Congressman Hurd on Alpine shooting
Congressman Will Hurd R-TX-23rd issued this statement today:
San Antonio, Texas – U.S. Representative Will Hurd released the following statement in response to the tragic shooting in Alpine, Texas, located in the 23rd Congressional District of Texas:
“A terrible tragedy occurred in Alpine today, which left a student and officer [Federal Homeland Security Investigations officer shot by a fellow federal agent] both wounded, and ended with a young woman taking her own life. It’s vital that the young people impacted by today’s events are provided with guidance and counseling as they seek comfort during this time of sorrow. I am proud of the way federal, state and local law enforcement and first responders have worked in tandem. The way that the people of Alpine and others across West Texas have come together is an incredible testament to this wonderful community. The outpouring of prayers and well-wishes from across the country are greatly appreciated. My own prayers and thoughts are with the entire Alpine community.”
