This Thursday at Sul Ross State University, presented by the Society for Conservation Biology - Sul Ross State University: A presentation and slideshow by Colin McDonald of the Disappearing Rio Grande Expedition.

The Rio Grande has been the lifeblood of the valleys and civilizations it flowed through for more than 3,000 years. As much of the water has been allocated towards cities and farms, and as warming climate becomes a bigger issue, the river’s future has never been more uncertain.
Reporter Colin McDonald and photojournalist Erich Schlegel have set out to travel the length of the Rio Grande, interviewing those who depend on it, taking photos and videos, and cataloging chemistry and biology of the river, from its headwaters in the Rocky Mountains to the Gulf of Mexico, all in hopes to understand the effects and evaluate possible solutions.
