BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK, TX – At 9:30 am on Friday, April 10, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will join Mexican Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Juan José Guerra Abud to celebrate the transboundary conservation initiatives underway in the Big Bend/Río Bravo region and to commemorate the second anniversary of the opening of the Boquillas Port of Entry.

Jewell and Guerra Abud will also sign an updated U.S.-Mexico Wildfire Protection Agreement, strengthening ongoing cooperation between the two nations in preventing and managing wildfires harmful to the region’s ecosystem and wildlife.
