Front Street Books invites you to author reading and booksigning — DATE CHANGED from original announcement
Front Street Books pleased and excited to host writer Skip Hollandsworth on FRIDAY, May 20, 6:30 p.m. at the Granada Theatre. There will be a program followed by a book-signing. Please mark your calendars!
Hollandsworth-accomplished journalist, author and currently executive editor of Texas Monthly-will present a visual program and talk based on his meticulously researched book, The Midnight Assassin: Panic, Scandal, and the Hunt for American’s First Serial Killer. Set in Austin, Texas, in 1885, this is a story of shocking murders perpetrated in the dark of night on woman after woman, all brutally hacked to death with axe, knife and sharp-pointed steel rod.
A sensational event in its day, the murders rocked the state capital ,and the fearful news spread throughout the state and the country, as fear and tension built after each murder.
An enthralling read, the book includes amazing detail based on the author’s obvious hard work and research. Front Street Books will have plenty of copies of the book available.
That’s FRIDAY, MAY 20, 6:30 p.m. at the Granada Theatre.
The original notice announced the event for Saturday, May 21, but Front Street Books changed the date to avoid conflict with the adult spelling bee, a fundraiser for Alpine Public Library, being held Saturday night the 21s from 7-9 pm at Big Bend Brewing Company.
