An Alpine resident who wished to remain anonymous today reported to the Gazette that the Pumpco, Inc. site in Alpine for the Trans-Pecos Pipeline has been ordered shut by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for lack of required permits.

A Pumpco employee contacted by the Gazette could not comment on the project.

The Gazette has contacted TCEQ and is awaiting confirmation that the agency ordered the shut down. At 3 pm today, no work was being done at the site, and no employees were on the property.

Pumpco, a division of Mas Tec, is a partner with Energy Transfer in the 143-mile proposed Trans-Pecos Pipeline.
