The Big Bend Gazette belatedly has learned Brewster County Commissioner Kathy Killingsworth resigned last weekend. During an interview with outgoing Brewster County Judge Val Beard, Gazette Publisher John Waters learned of Killingsworth’s resignation.
Apparently this is not new news; Beard told the Gazette the resignation was broadcast on KALP radio over the weekend.
Despite the Gazette’s best efforts, Beard would not reveal who she will appoint to replace Killingsworth, and assured the new commissioner will be from South Brewster County.
Beard did offer that a formal announcement on the replacement will be made soon, perhaps as early as tomorrow.
