Shafter Shareholders see gains in last month
Stockholders of the Shafter Mine in Presidio County have seen a dramatic increase in their investment during the last month.
Currently trading at C$2.15 the stock has almost doubled since plumbing C$$1.15 recently. The stock traded as high as C$10 last year.
One Canadian Dollar is worth about .95 USD.
The mine has faced numerous delays and is expected to receive a needed new furnace in September. The furnace originally was expected to be delivered in July. Catalin Chiloflischi, Corporate Communications Director at Aurcana, told the Gazette the company is at the mercy of suppliers and the delay was”on their side.”
The company is currently training a group of 15 new miners, comprised of students from Presidio, Texas. The new miners are attending mining school and also training in the mine, and are expected to graduate the program in early September according to Chiloflischi,
On several occasions in the past, Aurcana CEO Lenic Rodriguez has said staffing at the mine has been difficult.
