Alpine Mayor and former Councilman Lujan agree to public debate
In an interview in the current issue of the Big Bend Gazette, Alpine Mayor Avinash Rangra said he would engage former Alpine City Council Member Carlos Lujan to a public debate. This afternoon, Lujan contacted the Gazette to agree to debate Rangra.
Both Lujan and Rangra asked Gazette Publisher John Waters to moderate.
During the interview, Rangra included the following stipulation regarding the debate: “But they need to be very specific [in questions to Rangra]; I don’t want to sit there and have them ask questions to show my innocence.” Reached by phone today, Rangra reiterated the condition.
Date and location for the debate have yet to be determined, though most likely the event will be scheduled for later this month. Details available here once they are finalized.
