On Saturday, May 25th, the Boquillas Tourism Project will host a party starting at noon in Boquillas, Mexico.
Antojitos (hand foods) buffet at the River Plaza in Boquillas will kick off the event. Musicians from Terlingua will play from 12 noon to 4 pm, and authentic Mexican foods will be available such as tamales, tostadas, flautas, gorditas, tacos and a great diversty of salsas. Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus juice), horchata (rice milk), and cerveza (beer) will also be available for purchase.The buffet cost is $8 per adult, no charge for kids.
At 8:30 pm, a dance with musicians from San Vicente will begin, $6 per person at the door. The tourism project has fifteen spaces available for people who want to stay the night in Boquillas; this is the launch of a new home stay program by which visitors can enjoy the hospitality of local residents for $35 per person.
For those staying overnight, please note that Boquillas does not have air conditioning. And all partygoers should be prepared for afternoon temperatures near 102 degrees Fahrenheit.
All travelers must have a valid passport, passport card or enhanced drivers license for international travel.
