No soft opening next week for the international crossing at Boquillas

David Elkowitz, spokesman for Big Bend National Park has confirmed there will be no “soft” opening of the Boquillas Crossing next week.
In our November issue, we reported that unofficial sources indicated the Park Service might have a “soft” opening of the international crossing November 14 and an official opening November 28.
Former park Superintendent Bill Wellman had told the Gazette last spring a “soft” opening would be a precursor for an official opening at a later date.
Our November issue also reported an official opening is scheduled for November 28.
Elkowitz could not comment beyond his confirmation that a “soft” opening would not occur next week.
