Update: Hwy 90/67 closed again; fire, which has jumped HWY 67/90, officially named “Gage-Holland Fire”

Hwy 90/67 west of Alpine closed again, at approximately 3:30 pm.

Fire has been named by officials the Gage Holland fire, after the ranch on which it started, just west of Paisano Pass.

As of 3:50 pm, according to Alpine Fire Chief Mark Scudder who is also Incident Commander, the Gage Holland Fire has jumped across HWY 67/90 from north to south side, near the rest area just west of Alpine. Current firefighting efforts are focused on creating a fire line (space/line stripped of fuels) on the south side of the railroad tracks in Toronto Canyon, just west og FM 1703, the access road to Sunny Glen.
