After being closed due to flooding and its aftermath (see photos below), FM 170 is once again open between Lajitas and Presidio. TxDOT officials said a 2-mile section of the road is still closed for repairs. A 14-mile detour theough Big Bend Ranch State Park will take an additional 35 minutes.

Several have called asking when FM 170 is going to reopen [between
Lajitas and Presidio]. Would you please assist us in getting these photos [courtesy of TxDot] out to show some of the damage that we are dealing with and why it may be awhile before the road is reopened to the traveling public? Thanks so much!
Our crews
have been working every day, including weekends, to repair the
extensive damage as soon as we possibly can. We want to ensure that
the roadway is safe for the traveling public prior to reopening. Thank
