Artists Emmy Holman and Angela Fritz (above), along with handfuls of other artists, donate their time to staff the Gallery on the Square in Alpine, the Big Bend Regional Art Council’s venue for showcasing (and selling) a variety of art made by members of the collective.
The BBAC is a coalition of artists “West of the Pecos” who aim to provide a forum and support for the regional arts community. Membership is open to all artists in the greater Big Bend, and exhibition space is available in the gallery for a nominal fee and a committment to staffing the gallery for one day a month.
The gallery is located in the “Old Town Square” row of buildings on the corner of N. 5th Street and Sul Ross Avenue, and is open 11 am to 5:30 pm Wednesday through Sunday, with alterations for major holidays. Visit the new and glorious website: www.bigbendartscouncil.net for lots more info.
